CWG Choices Ltd to re-open Corby PVC window and door manufacturing – all product lines re-opened as of 18th May 2020 with skeleton crews
More than 7 weeks have passed since the current social distancing measures were introduced and as communicated 22nd and 29th April 2020, we have been in correspondence with both our supply chain and our valued customer partners. We have also been watching and reading all information possible from our Government and Public Health England.
We communicated on the 22nd April 2020, the guidance received from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, The Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP, who states;
'...there is no restriction on manufacturing continuing under the current rules'
Last night's communication from the Prime Minister encouraged businesses and people to return to work, provided they can do so safely including travelling to work indiviudally by car or bicycle.
Thoughout, we have considered all the guidance carefully as well as the livelihoods of our staff and customers. We completed a return to work Risk Assessment in accordance with the guidance from Public Health England and identified all measures possible to protect our employees.
On balance, we decided
- to begin manufacturing and distributing Aluminium Window and Door products with a skeleton crew from Monday 27th April 2020
- to begin manufacturing CWG Kommerling Window and Door products with a skeleton crew from todays date, Monday 11th May 2020
Today we can confirm that we will
- begin manufacturing CWG 'specialist' PVC window and door products including Flush 70, R9, R7, R2, and Imagine doors from 18th May 2020
At the time of writing we have, manufactured and ready, in finished goods stock, many doors and windows from bespoke orders prior to temporary shutdown due to the crisis. Please contact us directly to confirm if you are wanting delivery in order to take priority in our transport scheduling. As we continue to run a skeleton operation in the interim in the interests of safety, our usual scheduled delivery days will not apply. Instead we will schedule on both a prioritised basis and that of time economical routes to ensure as many drops per vehicle as possible to satisfy as many customers as possible with the skeleton operation.
We have many customer orders raised but unconfirmed (not signed off). Please return your confirmed orders, again so that you can take priority in terms of the manufacturing and delivery schedule. If applicable, please use this as an opportunity to bring your CWG credit accounts upto date, which in a few cases have been on stand still through the temporary shutdown period, to avoid disappointment.
We have re-started with skeleton crews only, to ensure that we can control the measures we have in place to prevent the introduction/spread of the virus in the workplace.
Throughout, CWG Choices have continued to process orders and enquiries safely from a home working environment to support our customers. Thank you, to all our customers and partners for their support in what continue to be very difficult times for us all. As ever, by your side throughout this crisis.
